BRENTWOOD—On Sunday, September 14, Lynne Cohen will host the 13th Annual Kickin’ Cancer 5k in Brentwood.
The event starts at 7:30 a.m. with the Family Expo and Event Day registration. At 8:50 a.m., the 5k Walk/Run warm up by LCF Fitness Ambassador Julie Diamond will take place. The run itself starts at 9:00 a.m. The Top Female/Male 5k Finisher Awards will begin at 10:00 a.m. The Team Awards Ceremony will be held at 10:15 a.m. and a Kiddie Fun Run for children age 10 and younger starts at 10:30 a.m.
Those registering for the event had to have mail-in forms in by September 5. Online registration will be open until Friday, September 12 at 12:00 p.m. Late registrations and t-shirt pick ups will be available on Saturday, September 13 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Front Runners which is located on 11620 San Vicente Blvd. in Los Angeles.
The fee to participate in the event was $30 before June 30, $35 before August 31 and $40 after August 31. For children age 10 and younger, the cost to participate was $15 before August 31 and $20 after the deadline.
According to the event page, “The scenic 5K course starts at San Vicente Blvd. and Darlington and continues West on the North side of San Vicente Blvd., U-turns at Avondale and loops back on the South side of San Vicente Blvd. The Kiddie Fun Run (less than 1K) is a quick out-and-back on the official race course. It starts and ends at San Vicente & Darlington. Children (age 10 & under can run by themselves or with the help of an adult.”
