HOLLYWOOD HILLS—Actress Zooey Deschanel’s former home in Hollywood Hills has been sold to 29-year-old Arctic Monkeys drummer Matt Helders for a reported $2.33 million. Deschanel initially put it on the market with an asking price of $2.2 million, marking a 6.3 percent increase in its value with the sale.

According to its history on Zillow, Helders actually acquired the home on May 20, after being on the market for 2 months.

Deschanel, 35, previously purchased the home in 2009 with her then-husband, Death Cab for Cutie frontman, Ben Gibbard. The couple split in 2011. Deschanel is said to have bought the house herself from another actor, Mark Ruffalo, for $1.65 million.

Located at 3295 Bennett Drive, the property has three bedrooms, four bathrooms, and takes up approximately half an acre. It sits near the 101 freeway and the Universal Studios Hollywood and Studio City.

The house, built in 1933, is described as a spacious dwelling that utilizes the natural sunlight of Los Angeles. While the house’s interior is said to have a rustic feel, it also contains a touch of the 21st  century, with two iPads installed with Sonos wireless speakers throughout the house. It also contains a fireplace, hardwood floors, and a grand piano, courtesy of Deschanel’s musical background. The large backyard has no pool, but is rich in greenery.

Helders is expecting his first child with his fiancé, model and actress Breana McDow.

Deschanel and her new fiancée, 42-year-old producer Jake Pechenik, have already purchased another home in Manhattan Beach for $4.5 million. Like Helders and his partner, they too are expecting their first child later this year.
