UNITED STATES—Bernie Marcus, co-Founder, and Chairman of Home Depot, the home improvement retail company publicly announced his endorsement of President Donald Trump, which he disclosed in an interview with The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
The billionaire, and resident of Georgia has donated over $2 billion to over 300 different causes. According to reports, Marcus intends to donate 80 to 90 percent of his fortune will go to his foundation to give to charities including, Centers for disabled veterans, medical research, care for children living with autism, and the re-election of President Trump. “I want to live to be 100 because I want to be in a position to give it away to those things that I really believe in,” said Marcus.
“Every day of my life there are new challenges for me that I want to get involved with,” he added.
“It’s simple. I’ve got all the houses I need. I live very well. My kids are taken care of. The things I live for now is finding the right things to put my money into and that can give me a good rate in return in emotion and doing good things for the world,” Marcus told AJC.
Marcus just celebrated his 90th birthday. He spoke frankly on President Trump stating that Trump “sucks at communication, but deserves praise for boosting U.S. jobs, confronting China on trade, and taking action against Iranian and North Korean aggression.”

Marcus received criticism from individuals who have indicated people should boycott Marcus and Home Depot for his support of the President of the United States. Negative comments and offers to cut up their Home Depot credit cards flooded social media platforms.
President Trump tweeted, “A truly great, patriotic & charitable man, Bernie Marcus, the co-founder of Home Depot, at the age of 90, is coming under attack by the Radical Left Democrats with one of their often used weapons.”
