HOLLYWOOD — A man who was trapped beneath a Red Line train on Friday, January 31, has been rescued.
The incident began at around 4:45 p.m. when a “trespasser” managed to make his way onto to the tracks of the Red Line at the Hollywood/Vine Station on 6250 Hollywood Boulevard, according to LAFD Spokesperson Brian Humphrey.
Service to the station was suspended as authorities attempted to remove the man who had been trapped beneath the midsection of the train. He was not, according to Mr. Humphrey, entangled with the train. The 27-year-old male was found conscious and responsive, and he was finally taken from beneath the train at around 5:00 p.m.
He reportedly sustained neck and back injuries, and was taken to a local hospital in fair condition.
A pre-teen female was said to have suffered some anxiety issues during the incident, and she was examined by medics on the scene.
Regular service was restored to the station, according to Metro, at around 7:00 p.m. There is still no word as to the identity of the man or how he made his way onto the tracks.
