LOS ANGELES—The Los Angeles Police Department indicated in a press release on November 1 Vincent Tyler Marcelo Babudro, 21, was reported missing after last being seen in Sun Valley on the 8900 block of Helen Avenue on the evening of October 26.

Stacy Waller, Babudro’s mother, disclosed that her son traveled to the Sun Valley area from Minnesota to visit his aunt, the only person he knew in California. He arrived in Southern California on October 22 for a pending two-week stay and went missing four days later.

Babudro’s family and the LAPD Missing Person’s Unit sought help from the public in locating him. According to reports and a confirmation from Stacy Waller on Friday, November 3, revealed that Vincent’s body was located in the Angeles National Forest the day before, having veered off the side of Little Tujunga Canyon Road.

Officers from the California Highway Patrol spotted Babudro’s damaged gold 2002 Volvo (which had a Minnesota license plate) just after 12:00 p.m. Investigators are still determining if the body found in the vehicle is Babudro. CHP officials suspect the crash occurred at approximately 10:00 p.m. the night of his disappearance.

A GoFundMe page has been set up for Babudro to assist with bringing his body back to Minnesota and to pay for funeral expenses.
