HOLLYWOOD HILLS—”NCIS” star, Pauley Perrette, who portrays Abby Scioto on the CBS forensics drama, was attacked in her Hollywood Hills neighborhood last week by a homeless man, who, according to prosecutors, was arrested and is now in custody.

The actress went to Twitter to express her thoughts about the incident:

“I was very hesitant about tweeting this. Tonight was an awful night. I was walking across my street to a new guest house I bought to meet my architect on my street, I was jumped by a VERY psychotic homeless man,” she wrote. “He grabbed me so forcefully, pinned my arm, punched me in the nose, forehead repeatedly telling me he was going to kill me. Then he showed me how he was going to kill me.”

The Los Angeles Police Department told Canyon News that Merck was arrested on November 12 at 6 p.m., shortly after the incident, at Cahuenga Boulevard and Yucca Street.

According to ABC7, Merck had been missing from the family for 14 years. Jaimie Merck, who claims that David Merck is her father, states that David had been missing from her life since she the age of 18.

Merck, 45, who was charged with felony criminal threats of imprisonment, by violence, is now facing charges and pleaded not guilty at his arraignment. If convicted, he could face up to 4 years in prison, Sgt. Bob Ward told the LA Times.

Perrette, who is a homeless and civil rights activist released a statement regarding the assault:

“I am shaken and traumatized. My house, my beloved Hollywood. My beloved homeless people that I spend my life protecting. My life changed tonight. My … I don’t know. We need full mental health care. We need housing and help for the homeless. We need to support our cops. We need to not walk alone. I need to heal. I almost died tonight.”
