SANTA MONICA—The Los Angeles Police Department Operations West Bureau, Special Assault Section detectives are seeking the public’s assistance with information that can lead to the arrest of the suspect responsible for sexually assaulting a women in the West Los Angeles region near Santa Monica.

According to the LAPD blog, authorities are looking into two incidents that occurred last week. The first took place on July 2, where an adult female was walking home when the culprit grabbed her from behind and dragged her across a street to a dark path. The suspect threw the victim onto the ground and got on top of her. The victim attempted to fight back, but the suspect struck her numerous times and sexually assaulted her before fleeing the scene.

The second incident occurred on Monday, July 4, when an adult female was approached by the suspect while she was walking home. He placed his arm around her neck, pulled her down a driveway and forced her to the ground, where he sexually assaulted the victim before fleeing on foot.

Police have described the suspect as an African-American male, approximately 25-30 years old with black hair and facial hair. He stands 6 feet to 6 feet and 2 inches tall and weighs approximately 160 pounds.

Both incidents occurred within 0.6 miles from each other. Detectives believe there could be additional victims or witnesses who may have information on both incidents and are asking them to come forward.
