BEVERLY HILLS—On Tuesday, January 27 announced the launch of its Green Business Program that certifies Beverly Hills businesses that have limited their environmental footprint.

As part of the program, businesses must complete a checklist of measures that address items such as water efficiency, energy conservation, waste reduction, recycling, and pollution prevention among other measures.

Throughout the process, the City’s Green Business Coordinators will provide free technical assistance and helpful resources for applicants.

“Beverly Hills has long led by example when it comes to sustainability,” said Beverly Hills Mayor Sharona Nazarian. “I was proud to help advance an ordinance that encourages a simple but meaningful shift. Plastic cutlery is available upon request, rather than provided automatically, reducing unnecessary waste while still respecting individual choice. Sustainability works best when it is collaborative, not burdensome or punitive. By educating, supporting, and working together, we can make thoughtful choices that protect our environment while building a better future for our children as a united community.”

Certified Green Businesses will receive a certificate and window decal to display for customers and team members. Certified Green Businesses will have the opportunity to be featured on the city’s specific website and social media.

Beverly Hills has certified the following businesses in the region:

• Alo Yoga

• Le Swim

• LA Main Physical Therapy

• Le Reve Beauty Lounge

• Kartoon Studios

• Clark Street Bakery

• Selfish

Interested applicants can apply by visiting beverlyhills.org/greenbusiness. To be eligible, businesses must be located in Beverly Hills and have a current city business license that complies with all City and County ordinances.
