WASHINGTON D.C.– On Thursday, July 23 they will be the Boys in Red, White and Blue, as the Los Angeles Dodgers will be  making  their now routine visit to the White House to celebrate their 2025 World Series title with President Donald Trump.

“President Trump is excited to welcome the Los Angeles Dodgers BACK to the White House to celebrate their World Series championship,” Taylor Rogers, a White House spokeswoman said.

 

With their third visit to 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. in the last six seasons, some of the Dodgers could probably give tours of the executive mansion at this point.

After the tour, President Trump will make a speech on the East Lawn praising the back to back World Series champs. Most likely afterward, the Dodgers will present President Trump with a custom jersey with his name on it.

Dodgers Manager Dave Roberts it’s humbled by the opportunity to visit the White House. “Honestly, like I’ve always said — my company line, my personal line — is I hope that we get this invitation every year, because that’s the goal, to win a championship, to get this invitation to the White House.”

Not all of the Dodgers will be making the trip. Outfielder Kike Hernandez has shared that he won’t be attending, The 34-year-old MLB veteran, has been out of action in recent weeks. His rehabilitation program prevents him from traveling with the team to Washington DC on July 23rd.

Miguel Rojas confirmed his plans to attend the White House visit shortly after teammate Kike Hernandez revealed he would not be making the trip.

All-Star shortstop Mookie Betts will also be skipping the visit to the White House. He we’ll be spending time with his family, after the recent birth of his third child earlier this year.

“I’m not trying to make this a whole big deal,” Betts said. Oh, but it is a big deal with the Dodgers fan base.

Some Dodger fans are disappointed the Dodgers are accepting the invitation because of President Trump’s stance on immigration and ICE.

Trump is a huge sports fan. Recently hosting  the historic “UFC Freedom 250” on the South Lawn of the White House on June 14, 2026. The unprecedented, invite-only sporting event celebrated both the nation’s 250th anniversary and Trump’s 80th birthday.

The team will make the trip to Washington, D.C. on an off day between series against the Philadelphia Phillies and the New York Mets. It’s in the midst of a demanding stretch of games for the Dodgers, playing nine games in 10 days.

He also secured billions in funding for 2026 FIFA World Cup and 2028 Olympic security and frequently hosts championship teams at the White House.

The tradition of sports teams visiting the White House dates to at least Aug. 30, 1865, when President Andrew Johnson welcomed the Brooklyn Atlantics and Washington Nationals amateur baseball clubs. Ulysses S. Grant played host to the first professional baseball team, the Cincinnati Red Stockings, in 1869.

Clayton Kershaw described visiting the White House as “an incredible honor”. Defending the team’s planned trip to meet President Trump, he stated, “I went when President Biden was in office. I’m going to go when President Trump is in office… it’s just about getting to go to the White House”.
