SANTA MONICA—At 7:04 a.m. on August 24, the Santa Monica Police Department announced that Pico Boulevard was closed between 17th Street and Euclid Street due to a traffic collision.

Authorities advised commuters to avoid the area and use alternative routes, as the closure would remain in effect until further notice.

At 10:28 a.m., an SMAlert was released with an update stating the collision occurred at the corner of 14th Street and Pico Boulevard, and officers had completed their investigation. All streets reopened to traffic. No further information has been released to the public.
