MALIBU—Malibu’s 43rd annual Chili Cook-Off was canceled on Sunday, September 6, because of stormy weather from Hurricane Marie. Organizers indicated anyone who bought tickets for Sunday’s cook-off could redeem them on Monday, September 7.
The four-day event, which started Friday, was supposed to run through Labor Day, but the Chili Cook-Off may be cut one day short. A shortened cook-off could mean a loss of funding for the Boys & Girls Club of Malibu, which receives 100 percent of the event’s net proceeds and uses them to fund several charity programs. One BGCM program funds Palisades and Franklin Firre disaster recovery services.
The Chili Cook-Off supports the local community. The event was previously canceled in 2025 due to Palisades Fire recovery efforts.
