BRENTWOOD-Diesel, A Bookstore in Brentwood will be hosting the book launch party and reading of Amy Alkon’s “Good Manners For Nice People Who Sometimes Say F*ck.”

The Diesel, A Bookstore website defines Amy Alkon as “the author of I See Rude People and writer of the award-winning syndicated advice column, The Advice Goddess. She’s been featured in The New York Times, Los Angeles Times, The Wall Street Journal, Glamour and Psychology Today, and has appeared on TV and radio programs such as Good Morning America and NPR. She blogs daily at advicegoddess.com.”

Alkon tells her readers that the book is not an etiquette; she focuses less on where the forks and knives go on the table and more on how to treat the people you’re dining with. She received a lot of praise for her previous book on the lack of manners and courtesy in today’s society, “I See Rude People” in which she recounts various encounters she’s had with troublesome people and how she dealt with their behavior.

According to Alkon’s Facebook page, the event will be held on June 3 starting at 6:30 p.m. and ending at 8:00 p.m. The event will be serving wine and snacks, and Alkon encourages those coming to the event to invite people.

The establishment can be reached by phone at 310-576-9960 and by email: info@dieselbookstore.com.
