HOLLYWOOD HILLS—A person was transported to a local hospital after being rescued from an apartment fire in Hollywood on Thursday, December 26.

According to the Los Angeles Fire Department Spokesperson Margaret Stewart, firefighters were dispatched to a two-story garden-style apartment located on the 5900 block of West Barton Avenue at 12:09 p.m. The fire was said to be inside one unit on the second floor.

The flames were extinguished by 26 firefighters in about 9 at 12:18 p.m. Firefighters managed to contain the fire to the one unit where it started.

A person found inside the apartment building fire was transported to a hospital for smoke inhalation after the fire was extinguished. The age and the gender of the person found was not disclosed.

The cause of the fire and the cost of damage is unknown.
