BEVERLY HILLS—On Tuesday, September 22, the city of Beverly Hills announced that Beverly Hills Public Works Director Shana Epstein announced she will retire from the department and public service, effective October 9 and has accepted a position in the private sector.
Epstein has served as Director since 2017, leading a team of more than 200 Public Works professionals managing the city’s infrastructure and utilities. Before coming to Beverly Hills, she served as General Manager of Ventura Water.
“On behalf of the City Council and Beverly Hills community, I’d like to thank Shana for her outstanding leadership in Beverly Hills and for a lifetime of public service,” said City Manager Ryan Gohlich. “Under Shana’s watch, the legendary landscape and infrastructure of Beverly Hills have remained world-class, and the department has been a leader in sustainability, conservation and municipal services.”
“The opportunity to lead the Beverly Hills Public Works team has truly been an honor and privilege,” said Epstein. “I have enjoyed the work we have accomplished and the many colleagues that I am able to call friends. I’d like to thank members of the City Council, past and present, and community members for an incredible career.”
Gohlich is expected to announce plans for filling the position in the coming weeks.
