PASADENA—UCLA’s Myles Jack had a “Bundy” moment. The freshman linebacker scored four touchdowns to defeat the unranked Washington Huskies 41-31 at the Rose Bowl Friday night. Brett Hundley threw for 159 yards and 2 TDs to win their third straight and remain undefeated at home.

The Bruins opened the first drive by Jack scoring a touchdown, on an eight-yard run that he fumbled in the end zone, but recovered in time. The Bruins made it 14-0 on their second possession with defensive end Cassius March receiving a two yard pass from Hundley at 9:27. The Huskies regrouped their offense and cut UCLA’s lead in half on a successful drive into the Bruins end on a pitch from quarterback Keith Price to Bishop Sankey for a short run up the middle to put Washington on the board.

The first quarter for Bruins’ saw a terrific performance from Jack who did stellar work last week against Arizona. He ended the second half with two TD’s while the Huskies climbed their way back into the game in the last six minutes to score 10 points in the second quarter. Travis Coons made his tenth consecutive field goal this season to put a comeback in reach. The hope for more offense from Washington came to a standstill with Price taking a sack that caused him pain in his upper body. He would not see a return allowing second stringer Cyler Myles to take the reins.

The unranked Huskies, who are 2-3 in their last five, would never see the lead come into their hands. Both teams traded touchdowns in the third and fourth quarters with Washington never seeing the possibility of upsetting the 13th ranked Bruins. Jack, a Bellevue, Washington native had a lot to prove to family and friends back home in a strong response. He became the 12th player in school history to score four touchdowns in one game.

The Bruins flawless record at home will be decided against 19th rankedArizona State who has won their last four straight with a home game againstOregon State on Saturday. Both teams make their match a determining factor of each other’s future in the bowl selection next month.
