BEVERLY HILLS—On Friday, January 23, prosecutors in the Los Angeles County District Attoreny’s Office announced that Christopher Cornelius, 54, who last week beat a man in Beverly Hills near Wilshire Boulevard and San Vicente Boulevard and ran him over with his car, pleaded not guilty to a murder charge.

Cornelius is a resident from San Bernardino. He was charged on Wednesday, January 21. After he entered his plea, the judge ordered that he be held without bail due to special circumstances in the case. Cornelius will make his next appearance in court on February 26 in the LAX Courthouse.

If he is convicted of murder, he could receive a sentence of either life in prison without the possibility of parole or the death penalty.
