BEVERLY HILLS-According to a press release from the City of Beverly Hills, a City commission that monitors charitable donations has identified an organization that has repeatedly not met the city’s criteria for charitable fundraising in the city.
The National Charity League, Inc. San Fernando Valley Chapter has on more than one occasion failed to record net proceeds of at least 50 percent for their fundraising events, notes the charitable solicitations commission.
“We have numerous fundraising events in the city every month and most charitable groups do meet the 50% rule,” said Lillian Raffel, chairperson of the Charitable Solicitations Commission. “But the names of organizations that repeatedly record less will be publicized people who donate to charities want to know how their money is being spent.”
Additional names of businesses that do not meet the criteria is published on the City’s website at: http://www.beverlyhills.org/citygovernment/commissions/charitablesolicitationscommission/organizationswithproceedslessthan50oftotalreceipts/
