BEVERLY HILLS—The city of Beverly Hills is inviting members of the community to attend an informational meeting to obtain more details about a site cleanup and root excavation on the Civic Center Drive right-of-way. The meeting will transpire on Wednesday, January 9 from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the Beverly Hills Library Auditorium located at 444 N. Rexford Drive Beverly Hills, CA 90210.
The City has hired TreeCareLA to clean up the Civic Center Drive right-of-way in preparation for tree planting. Earthworks has been hired also to complete root collar excavation to increase the health of the already existing eucalyptus trees. According to a press release from the city of Beverly Hills, root collar excavation involves the removal of excessive soil and mulch from a tree trunk.
The project timeline and work hours will be the following (weather permitting):
-Site Preparation, Clearing and Grubbing: Week of January 7
-Root Collar Excavation: January 14 thru January 25
Hours of work will transpire between 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. and will consist of a crew of 5 to 8 workers. Equipment used will include a vacuum truck, mulching truck and miscellaneous work trucks. Hand tools including shovels, rakes etc. will be used.
