PACIFIC PALISADES—On Wednesday, November 13, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office announced that Dr. Bruce Martin Hensel, 71, a former KNBC producer, correspondent, and Host of “Ask Dr. Bruce” was charged with soliciting a 9-year-old female to send him sexually explicit photos.

Prosecutors stated that on or around  August 4, Hensel requested the photographs from the daughter of someone he is acquainted with by contacting the minor via a messaging app.

Authorities served a search warrant at Hensel’s home on the 17500 block of Tramonto Drive on October 16. The Los Angeles Police Department Juvenile Division investiators, at 10:15 a.m. arrested Hensel in Beverly Hills on November 14. He was detained on $5,000 bail, and his medical license is still currently active.

Angela Brunson, Deputy District Attorney of Cyber Crime Division indicated that Hensel is facing one felony count of contact with a minor for sexual purposes. If convicted, he could serve up to 18 months in a state prison.

Case BA482562 is currently under investigation by the Los Angeles Police Department, and the Juvenile Division Internet Crimes Against Children Regional Task Force. Hensel’s arraignment has not yet been scheduled.

Hensel has won a total of 11 Emmy awards during his career.
