HOLLYWOOD HILLS—Singer and songwriter Harry Styles, of the English-Irish boy band One Direction, has placed his Hollywood Hills home on the market for $8.495 million. He reportedly purchased the contemporary-style home in January 2016 for $6.87 million.

The 4,100-square-foot, multi-level home is situated on a quarter-acre lot above the Sunset Strip, with views of downtown and the Pacific Ocean. It features an open floor plan with 3 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms, according to the real estate website. The home also has a kitchen with a center island, a collection of terraces, a swimming pool, a gym, a home theater, and floor-to-ceiling glass doors. Tall bamboo hedges surround the outdoor spa and pool.

The increased list price is due to the renovations Styles made to the property, according to listing agent Justin P. Huchel of Hilton & Hyland. Huchel indicated in reports that Styles is selling the Los Angeles home because he spends much of his time in New York and London.

Styles is believed to have recently purchased a condominium in the Tribeca neighborhood of Manhattan for $8.71 million, according to reports. The 2,868-square-foot home reportedly has 3 bedrooms and 3.5 bathrooms and is located in a building in which celebrities such as Justin Timberlake, Blake Lively, Ryan Reynolds, and Jennifer Lawrence are rumored to reside.

Styles has been a member of One Direction since 2010. The band has released five albums to date and received multiple awards, including four MTV Video Music Awards, four Brit Awards, and six Billboard Music Awards, among others. One Direction has been on hiatus since March 2016, to allow the members to pursue individual projects. Styles released a single, “Sign of the Times,” in April, and his debut album, “Harry Styles,” on May 12. He is set to make his acting debut in Christopher Nolan’s “Dunkirk” this year, with Tom Hardy and Mark Rylance.
