BEVERLY HILLS—Hawthorne Elementary School located in Beverly Hills held a fundraiser event on Tuesday, October 7 to “Save the Clock Tower.” A screening of the 1985 film “Back to the Future” was also showed.

Gates opened for the event at 6:15 p.m. and the movie screening started at 6:45 p.m. Movie tickets were purchased at $3 each. Pizza was available for the guests for $5.

Principal of Hawthorne Elementary School, Kathy Schaeffer informed Canyon News of upcoming events the school has planned. Spirit Day will be held at Centennial Carnival on Sunday, October 19 between 10:00 a.m and 4:00 p.m. to celebrate Hawthorne School’s 100th anniversary. The event will include a petting zoo, bumper cars, a silent auction, food, games, rides and more.

The Hawthorne PTA is also inviting friends and family to join in on the brick fundraiser, where a brick will be engraved with the participants name and used to create a Hawthorne Centennial pathway.

Each brick can be purchased for $100 and all proceeds will go to the Hawthorne PTA. The deadline for orders is January 1, 2015.
