MALIBU/SANTA MONICA—From June 22 thru June 28, Caltrans, Southern California Edison, and Verizon are completing Palisades Fire recovery work in the city of Malibu. Workers will begin repaving roads, repairing slopes and drainage, trenching utilities, and cleaning up creeks.

Expect reduced speeds on PCH, one-lane closures on canyon roads, and a 15-mph zone on Topanga Canyon due to overnight paving. Most daytime work is expected to run from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

There will also be overnight lane closures on Santa Monica Boulevard from June 21 to June 28. Caltrans will be closing one lane in each direction every night. This will take place between Cotner and Federal avenues from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. Sunday through Friday.

There will be no parking available on either side of the street in the work zone. Caltrans says the purpose of this project is to improve the curb, gutter, and sidewalks along Santa Monica Boulevard. Additionally, workers are expected to perform a bus pad replacement near Westgate and Federal.
