WEST HOLLYWOOD—The city of West Hollywood announced upcoming lighting improvements at the Plummer Park tennis, pickleball, and paddleball courts starting Monday, August 17. Existing court lighting fixtures will be upgraded to new energy-efficient LED fixtures, enhancing visibility, improving energy performance, and supporting a better recreational experience for park users. Estimated completion is Friday, September 4.

Construction is scheduled to take place over approximately three weeks during weekday daytime hours. All work areas will be cleared daily by the afternoon. Temporary daytime programming and free play closures will occur at specified courts during construction activities. The Project Contractor will complete work in phases to minimize impacts and maintain access to portions of the facility throughout construction.

Project Schedule and Court Closures: The Project Contractor will begin work at the paddleball court and proceed counterclockwise through the facility. Temporary daytime programming and free play closures will occur at specified courts during active construction. No construction work will occur on weekends. View the City’s Parks and Facilities webpage for updates to programming schedules during construction.

Anticipated court closures are as follows:

Week 1 – Courts Closed are 1, 2, 6, and 7 and Paddleball Court

Week 2 – Courts Closed are 3, 4, and 5

Week 3 – Courts Open – Control link cabinet replacement and system commissioning will occur during this week

Parking and Site Impacts: During construction, temporary changes will occur in the Plummer Park North Lot parking area. There may be temporary parking impacts associated with the Helen Albert Certified Farmers’ Market on Monday, August 17 and Monday, August 24. Visitors are advised to utilize alternative forms of transportation such as the City’s free Cityline shuttle, park in the Plummer Park South Lot parking area, located at 7377 Santa Monica Boulevard, or find street parking in the area due to impacted parking availability during the Plummer Park Court Lighting Upgrades Project.
