STUDIO CITY— Studio City restaurant Vitello’s is receiving backlash for a murder mystery show by Robert Blake’s son.
Noah Blake hosted an immersive dinner-theater murder mystery at the restaurant named “A Killer Night In Studio City.” Blake directed and starred in the film, and it was clear it was fictional.
In 2001, Robert Blake and his wife, Bonny Lee Bakley, went to dinner at the same restaurant. Later, Bonny was killed while sitting in a parked car after the dinner, where she was shot multiple times.
Blake claimed he went back into the restaurant while his wife was still outside because he left his revolver. Blake was found liable for her death in a civil trial.
Controversy sparked up because of the family’s dark history with the restaurant.
Noah Blake claimed that the film was not meant to rewrite history and has nothing to do with the death of Bonny Lee Bakely. Noah’s half-sister, Rose Lenore Blake, has said on TikTok that the film is disrespectful.
With all the backlash they’ve been receiving, the restaurant plans to run the film through Oct. 31, 2026.
