WEST HOLLYWOOD—Local artist Luciana Albeit has a new art installation on 8315 Santa Monica Blvd. in what was once West Hollywood’s Crossroads building. The art piece is titled “Open Road” and pays tribute to the famous Route 66 for the highway’s Centennial Celebration.

Albeit reimagines Route 66 through various color schemes, transforming familiar landscapes into her own visual art. The city of West Hollywood teamed up with fellow Los Angeles neighborhoods to transform the route itself into art for tourists and residents to admire as they travel along this part of Route 66.

In addition to “Open Road,” Albeit has another art piece titled “LAND,” which is being displayed across several select billboards on Sunset Boulevard from June 1 to September 30, 2026. It is a part of the West Hollywood Arts Moving Image Media Art program and is presented every 30 minutes.

Albeit writes on Instagram, “Thank you to everyone who has already stopped by and shared photos and videos of my piece in such a spectacular and iconic location.”

Along with Albeit’s piece, two other Route 66-themed art installations will be projected across West Hollywood. One being Sylke Meyer’s Past Tense/Future Perfect fiberglass sculpture at Plummer Park and Vinnie Hager’s Path Discovery, which wraps street poles with a customized Route 66 shield.
