HOLLYWOOD—Beauty is every women’s birthright-it is not just for the rich and famous. By using makeup successfully it not only creates outer transformation, but it reflects the beauty of a woman’s spirit, proving that breathtaking makeup is all about bringing out the beauty within.

Makeup can be an enormously helpful aid, as can the person who’s applying it. I believe one of the pleasures of a makeup artist is aiding the process of transformation. There were plenty of makeup artists, vendors and enthusiasts on hand at the International Make-up Artist Trade Show known as (IMATs) NYC the weekend of April 11.

The sold-out event took place at Pier 94, in New York City. The event had an estimated 100 vendors including our dear friend Eve Pearl to Julie G from Jessie’s Girl Cosmetics. The impressive Make-up Museum had a display of movie and TV creations, including molds and sculptures. On hand was makeup department head Judy Chin, who discussed the film “Noah,” starring Russell Crowe. It was all about glitz, fashion and beauty, which keeps on growing with every year.

The popularity of beautyYouTube gurus was seen when Megan arrived on April 12 better known as (Ciaoobellaxo). These beauty gurus influence girls and women with their opinions on products and purchase decisions. Julie G is another guru that influences young girls into buying products with well over 500,000 million subscribers. They are famous for their YouTube channels and are treated like celebrities with their fans asking for pictures and autographs.

Missing from the NYC show was Kandee Johnson, the beauty diva sensation with over 2 million subscribers. Johnson is a vibrant, young mother of four that looks fantastic and loves to give beauty and advice tips to teens. All of these young ladies are extremely beautiful and personable. Once again, the event successfully resonated with an estimated 5,000 people for the weekend event. Hats off, to Michael Key, the show’s director and CEO of Makeup Artist magazine, who excelled in making IMATS, New York, the makeup world’s biggest weekend.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but after the invention of photography, it was also in the eye of the camera. But not even the makeup artist can always persuade the human and the camera eye to agree. The greatest beauties have personal character as well as gorgeous, alluring features, and the more intriguing the character, the greater the impact of beauty.

Just look at the beauty in Cameron Diaz who stars in the comedy film “The Other Woman,” being released on April 25. She’s one of the natural beauties. The 41-year-old who was recently in St. Barts for an InStyle magazine spread knows beauty is only skin deep. In the movie, Carly (Cameron Diaz) discovers that her boyfriend is married and soon meets the wife he’s been cheating on. And when yet another affair is discovered, all three women team up to plot revenge on the three-timer husband. Diaz is the exuberant, all American girl. The film also stars, Leslie Mann, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, Don Johnson, Kate Upton and Nicki Minaj among many more.

Opening the same day on April 25 is “Brick Mansions,” about an undercoverDetroit cop who tries to bring down a crime lord with the help of an ex-con. The film stars the late Paul Walker as Damien.

Rose’s Scoop: Beyonce a bridesmaid? According to MediaTakeout.com, Beyonce agreed to be a bridesmaid at Kim Kardashian and Kanye West’s Parisian wedding on May 24. Kim Kardashian and Kanye West are gracing the cover of April’s Vogue magazine dressed as bride and groom.

Wishing everyone a Happy, Safe Easter Weekend!
