MALIBU—The city of Malibu posted on its Facebook page on Friday, January 23 that Pacific Coast Highway and Topanga Canyon Boulevard will have closures for Palisades Fire Repair work starting on Monday, January 26. Work will transpire on PCH from Temescal Canyon Road (Pacific Palisades) to Carbon Beach Ter (Malibu).
Current conditions
• Temescal Canyon Road–Sunset Boulevard: 35 mph, cones/signage
• Sunset Blvd.–Carbon Beach Ter: Active work zone, single-lane closures, 25 mph
• Possible weekday lane closures 9 a.m. –3 p.m. anywhere along PCH
Planned work zones
• Trancas Cyn Rd–Guernsey Ave & Corral Cyn Bridge: Work zones; possible night closures
• S of Las Flores–Sunset Blvd: Fire-damage, drainage & slope repairs; lane closures 9 p.m. –6 a.m. weekdays
• S of Big Rock Dr: Catchment wall; NB reduced to 1 lane, 9 a.m. –3 p.m. weekdays
• Las Flores–Topanga (SCE trenching):
– NB closed: 4 a.m. –3 p.m. weekdays; 4 a.m.–4 p.m. weekends; 9 p.m. –6 a.m. daily
– SB closed: 9 a.m. –5 p.m. weekdays; 4 a.m. –4 p.m. weekends; 9 p.m. –6 a.m. daily
• S of Topanga Blvd: Slope & culvert work; NB closed 6 a.m. –3 p.m. weekdays
• Coastline Dr–Porto Marina Way (Getty Villa): Retaining wall; NB closed 9 a.m. –3 p.m. weekdays
Topanga Canyon Boulevard — PCH to Grand View Drive
• Closed to the public midnight–5 a.m. daily
• One-way traffic w/ pilot car (PM 2.5–2.😎 for emergency work
• One-way traffic for SCE trenching (PM 4.3–6.7), 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. weekdays
Motorists are asked to drive cautiously as fines are doubled in work zones. Delays are expected, and closures can transpire depending on weather and subject to change.
