SANTA MONICA—Two suspects were arrested on December 13, after stealing a vehicle and causing a police chase in the area of 17th Street and Delaware Avenue.
The chase began when police flagged-down the vehicle for running a stop sign at approximately 3:10 a.m. At that point, the vehicle sped off, sparking a chase that ended at Pico Boulevard when the driver lost control of the vehicle while attempting to make a turn, crashing into a metal poll.
The driver then fled the scene, evading arrest. He is described as a Hispanic male standing 5 feet and 9 inches tall. He has a thing build. Authorities have yet to capture the suspect.
The two male suspects were charged with the unlawful taking of a vehicle, violation of probation, and being a member of a street gang. Both suspects were denied bail
