SANTA MONICA—Authorities were involved in a standoff with an armed man outside a West Los Angeles apartment on Sunday, January 4.
Police evacuated residents from the building located in the 1300 block of Brockton Avenue north of Santa Monica Boulevard. Police dogs appeared at the scene.
The suspect was reported shooting a gun near Brockton Avenue and Santa Monica Boulevard at approximately 9:20 p.m. on Saturday.
Streets located near Rochester and Texas Avenue were closed during the investigation process.
The suspect appeared to be between the ages of 25 to 30 and was detained by authorities shortly after 7 a.m. on Sunday. There were no reports of any injuries during the standoff.
