LOS ANGELES—The NFL Draft was held in Chicago, on Thursday, April 28 and the mystery of who the Los Angeles Rams would choose with the No. 1 overall pick was answered Thursday night.
NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell opened the novelty envelope and said, “with the first pick, the Los Angeles Rams select Jared Goff from the University of California.”
Over 10,000 rabid fans came out to be a part of history at LA Live. It was a perfect way to start the Rams full return to the southland. Laurel Canyon resident George Shaw spoke for the vast majority when he stated, “I’m excited for the return of the NFL, and the fact that the team has its roots here is just icing on the cake.”
The Los Angeles Rams cheerleaders were in attendance cheering the #1 pick in the draft. Jarred Goff from the University of California. While the Rams choose first, the Philadelphia Eagles took Carson Wentz from North Dakota State in the second overall pick. Time will tell who can play at this highest level.
