LOS FELIZ—A 23-year-old man who was stalking Academy Award-winning actress Natalie Portman, 37, was arrested outside her Los Feliz home on Tuesday, March 26.

Officers arrested Gregory Edward Pearce for suspicion of violating a restraining order and is being held in lieu of $500,000 bail, according to records from the Los Angeles County Jail. After receiving a 911 call, the Los Angeles Police Department responded around 3:30 p.m.

Pearce was placed in a psychiatric hold after he insisted on being called “John Wick,” the name of a fictional character in the movie “John Wick” starring Keanu Reeves. Authorities discovered a partially assembled Glock-style handgun inside his car according to court documents the Los Angeles Times reported.

Pearce told police he had spoken to Portman through telepathy and traveled from Colorado to Los Angeles just for her.

Pearce was issued a restraining order in March to stay away from Portman after attempting to break into the gate of her home on Janurary 31. Pearson failed to reply to someone inside the residence asking why he was at the home an intercom, according to Portman’s restraining order request filed in court.

Portman is known for her roles in the “Star Wars” prequels, as well as Oscar-nominated roles in “Closer” and “Black Swan.” She is slated to appear in the upcoming drama “Lucy in the Sky.”
