WOODLAND HILLS—Golden State Warriors Head Coach Steve Kerr and Associate Head Coach Frank Vogel stopped by a joint practice between the New Orleans Saints and the Los Angeles Rams at the team’s practice facility in Woodland Hills. Kerr won five NBA titles as Michael Jordan’s teammate on the Chicago Bulls and four titles as Golden State’s head coach. Vogel won an NBA championship in 2020 as head coach of the Los Angeles Lakers.
High-profile coaches have wanted to see how McVay operates, including former Buffalo Bills coach Sean McDermott, who made a similar visit to the Rams training camp last month.
Vogel joined the Warriors coaching staff in July, after spending last season as an assistant coach with the Dallas Mavericks. The move comes after Golden State went 37-45 during the regular season and missed the playoffs for the second time in three years under Kerr.
Vogel is known for his defensive coaching, an area has been a real weak spot for the Warriors in recent years. Watching two playoff-caliber NFL teams compete head-to-head might give the pair some inspiration as they look to retool the roster before the start of the 2026-2027 NBA season.
