HOLLYWOOD—Actress and producer, Shelley Morrison, 83, passed away at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles due to heart failure on Sunday, December 1. The news was confirmed by her publicist Lori DeWaal.

Morrison is best known for her portrayal of the character Rosario Salazar, a maid on the NBC comedy series “Will & Grace.” She portrayed the character for a total of eight seasons from 1999-2006. The show was rebooted in 2017, but Morrison did not resume her role.

“She took pride in playing a strong loving yet feisty Latina,” said her husband Walter Dominguez.

Morrison’s television and film credits include “The Farmer’s Daughter” (1963), “Laredo” (1965), “Troop Beverly Hills” (1989), “Shark Tale” (2004), “Pray” (2006), “Fools Rush In” (1997), “Foodfight” (2012) and “Handy Manny” (2006-2012).

She was nominated by the Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a comedy series for “Will & Grace” in 2002 and 2004. Morrison leaves behind her husband Walter, three sons and three daughters.
