LOS ANGELES – On June 1, GLAD will be hosting Deaf Women’s Day. The theme of the event is a Springtime Tea Party and will have refreshments such as tea, cakes, and cookies. The suggested attire for the event is nice-casual.

 

The event highlights two causes: “Women + Automobiles 101” and “HIV 101.” One of the topics that will be covered for the workshop will be looking for scams when taking your car into to a car mechanic.

 

There will be various free HIV tests, booths, vendors and raffle prizes available for attendees. The event is free to attend; those who wish to attend must RSVP by May 28. The Deaf Women’s Spring Tea Party starts at 11:00 a.m. and ends at 3:00 p.m.
