LOS ANGELES—After a long break, the Sparks came right back and took another loss on Hello Kitty Night their third straight defeat, this time an 82-64 blowout to the Seattle Storm in front of the home crowd.

You have to wonder what’s it going to take for this team to turn things around? Eight days off were supposed to help the Sparks reset, but they looked like the same team that entered the break, struggling offensively and never finding any real momentum.

Dearica Hamby and Nneka Ogwumike did their part, but the Sparks simply couldn’t keep up with Seattle. The game completely slipped away in the third quarter, where Los Angeles was outscored 20-8 and shot just 2-for-15 (13 percent) from the field. Any hopes of a comeback disappeared during that stretch as the Storm pushed the lead past 20.

The loss marks the Sparks’ third consecutive defeat since Kelsey Plum’s injury, all by double digits, leaving even more questions about when or if this team can snap out of its recent slump. With the Indiana Fever up next on Wednesday, Los Angeles will need to find answers quickly before this slump gets even worse.
