BEVERLY HILLS—The Beverly Hills estate previously owned by filmmaker and tycoon Howard Hughes has been listed on the market for $11.5 million.
According to neighbors, the property was known as a party pad for Hollywood during Hughes’ time. The estate was designed specially for Hughes by Samuel Wacht. The listing agent for the home is Ben Bacal of Rodeo Realty.
The 4,300-square-foot home, constructed in the 1960s and renovated in 2007, contains a 500-square-foot master suite, four bedrooms, five bathrooms, a gym room and a four-vehicle garage.
Hughes served as producer/director for such films as “The Outlaw” of 1943, “Scarface” of 1932 and “Hell’s Angels” of 1930.
Hughes passed away at the age of 70 in 1976. The 2004 film “The Aviator” was inspired by Hughes’ life story.
