GRIFFITH PARK—The Autry Museum of the American West will host Wildfire Day: LA, a wildfire prevention planning event on Saturday, June 27, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 4700 Western Heritage Way, Los Angeles, CA 90027.

According to one of the event’s collaborators, MySafe: LA, a nonprofit fire prevention and disaster readiness organization, Wildfire Day: LA is a free family event set-up to discuss the importance of wildfire prevention and preparedness with communities.

The event will feature live wildfire safety demonstrations and exhibits from the Los Angeles Fire Department and Los Angeles Department of Water and Power, family fun activities, face painting, and resources from experts on the newest wildfire prevention issues.

Wildfire Day: LA has the Hollywood Hills Fire Safe Council as a notable collaborator for the event, and as listed on the city of Los Angeles Emergency Management Department’s Facebook page, it will grant the first 100 visitors to their booth a free fire blanket and a tip sheet for inexpensive home hardening solutions.
