PACIFIC PALISADES—On Monday, September 30, the Los Angeles Fire Department was called to the scene of a brush fire that started in Pacific Palisades on the 548 block of North Palisades Drive, at 12:46 p.m.

At around 1:10 p.m., all forward progress of the fire headed uphill was halted as the LAFD dispatched flight crews and over 120 firefighters to attack the blaze. Officials announced the flames as a “Mega Emergency Incident” via social media.

The two-acre brush fire took an hour to contain, with flames moving in the direction of residential areas, putting homes in danger of being burned. Water drops were placed on homes by air-ops to keep the flames from spreading.

There were no reports of any injuries to firefighters during the blaze. The cause of the fire is not known at this time.
