HOLLYWOOD HILLS—The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce announced that country singer Carrie Underwood, 35, will be receiving a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on Thursday, September 20 at 11:30 a.m.
Underwood rose to fame after she won the fourth season of the reality-competition series “American Idol” in 2005. Her first debut album “Some Hearts,” was released later that year. The singer has released four additional albums and is planning to release her upcoming album “Cry Pretty,” on Friday, September 14.
Underwood is set to kick off her “Cry Pretty” tour in May 2019, after she recovers from giving birth to her second child. Last month, Underwood announced on Instagram that she and her NHL husband Mike Fisher would be welcoming another baby into the family. The couple has one son, Isaiah Michael, 3.
The country star has been working in the music industry for 13 years and has won 7 Grammy Awards, 6 CMAs, and 14 ACMs. She will be receiving her star in the recording category.
Leron Gubler, President and CEO of the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce will be hosting the ceremony followed by guest speakers Simon Cowell and Brad Paisley. Cowell was a judge on “American Idol.” Paisley will be co-hosting the Country Music Awards with Underwood later this year, which will be their 10th year in a row hosting the award ceremony together.
