GRIFFITH PARK—On October 15, the California Highway Patrol (CHP) reported a multi-vehicle accident that occurred on Tuesday, October 14, at approximately 11:30 p.m. The crash involved a black Nissan Pathfinder, a black Honda Civic, a white Toyota Camry and an overturned semi-truck in the northbound lane of 5-Freeway resulting in an oil spill.

According to CHP officer Elizabeth Kavig, the semi-truck driver lost control of the vehicle. Consequently, it tipped over crashing into the other vehicles in its path blocking traffic onto Ventura Freeway (134).

It is a static situation with no serious injuries. Two patients – one declining LAFD transport and one being evaluated). A reduced number of resources will handle the incident. Traffic will remain impacted on the SB 5 for an undetermined period of time.”
