LOS ANGELES—The Los Angeles Police Department is asking for the public’s help to locate the suspect responsible for striking an eight year-old boy with their vehicle and fleeing the scene of the crime. The LAPD West Traffic Division noted the incident occurred on October 8 at around 8:00 p.m. near Orchard Avenue north of Washington Boulevard.
A white pick-up truck struck the child and fled the scene heading south on Orchard Avenue to Washington Boulevard. The vehicle has been described by police as having a “flare side bed,” with black steps on the cab.
The victim was transported to a local hospital where he was listed in stable condition.
