HOLLYWOOD—So many times we have seen the heartbreak and heartaches of Hollywood celebrity couples. We remember the short-lived marriage of Britney Spears to Jason Alexander for a measly 55 hours. Then there are some celebrity successful marriages that have stood by their partners through thick and thin.
Look at Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson who have been married since 1988. They have two children together, Chester (Chet) and Truman Theodore. Their marriage was put through the test last year when Rita had to undergo a double mastectomy. Rita’s latest album self-titled “Rita Wilson,” was released two months ago on March 11.
Some actors have a healthy approach to Hollywood, that consider acting a way of just making a living. This approach is what keeps the marriage alive between Denzel and Pauletta Washington who have invested over three decades of marriage. The couple met on the set of the television film “Wilma,” and married in 1983. They have four children, John David, Katia, and twins Olivia and Malcolm.
The “Devil Wears Prada,” star Meryl Streep has been married for over three decades. Miss Streep lost her first partner in life John Cazale to bone cancer and moved into a vacant apartment that was owned by her brother’s friend, Don Gummer. Gummer and Meryl hit it off and married in 1978 and never looked back. She thanked her husband first at the 2012 Academy Awards in her acceptance speech for Best Actress in “The Iron Lady.”
The Hollywood couple that took the cake for being together over 60 years was Jerry Stiller and Anne Meara. A true love story that was shared for decades. The couple have two children, fellow actors Ben and Amy Stiller. Anne Meara passed away last May of natural causes at the age of 85.
Comedy goes a long way for the comedic pair Danny DeVito and wife Rhea Perlman. They met in 1971 when Perlman went to see a friend’s performance in the play “The Shrinking Bride,” which featured DeVito. The two hit it off so well, that they moved in two weeks later. They married in 1982 and have three children together, Lucy Chet, Grace Fan, and Jacob Daniel. They acted alongside one another in the Emmy Award winning TV show “Taxi,” and in the film “Matilda.” The couple separated in 2012, however, reconciled in 2013.
That should be comforting for Sharon and Ozzy Osbourne. According to multiple reports, the couple are splitting after 33 years of marriage. A source told E! News that the couple mutually agreed that Ozzy should move out of their shared home temporarily. The source said, that their split had nothing to do with Ozzy’s previous addiction issues and that he had been sober for more than three years.
According to People magazine, a source said it’s true that the couple have split for now, but they would not be surprised if they worked through their breakup. The source also noted that Sharon believes that Ozzy is having an affair. The couple met in the early 70s when Sharon was working for her father, Don Arden, who managed Ozzy’s band Black Sabbath. When Ozzy split from the iconic band in 1979, Sharon took over her father’s management company and started to date the rock singer and manage his solo career. The two were married on July 4, 1982, and have three children together, Aimee, Kelly, and Jack.
