MALIBU—Singer-songwriter Kid Rock has sold his Balinese-inspired Malibu home for $9.5 million. The 8,300-square-foot home, concealed by privacy hedges and gates, was most recently listed for $10.995 million, according to the Los Angeles Times. The musician purchased the property in 2006 for $11.6 million. His initial asking price for the home in 2013 was $13.45 million, which fell to $12.75 million in 2015.
The home, built in 2002, was recently updated, featuring hand-carved doors, ornate woodwork and ebony wood floors. Skylights and French doors create a light and airy vibe in the home.
The home has five bedrooms and five bathrooms including a gym, office, and sauna. Other features include a black and white mosaic foyer that opens to a formal living room, a dining room, an open-plan kitchen and two-sided fireplace that divides the main living room.
Outside the home, lawns and landscaping surround the swimming pool and lounge area. There is also an outdoor dining pavilion with a built-in barbecue, mounted flat-screen TV and fireplace. A separate guest house sits near to the pool area. The property listing agent was Michael Cunningham of Pinnacle Estate Properties.
Kid Rock, 46, gained fame from his 1998 album “Devil Without a Cause,” which sold 14 million copies worldwide. He is a five-time Grammy Award nominee and has sold 25 million albums in the U.S. His last album “First Kiss” was released in February 2015.
