CALIFORNIA-On September 21, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department announced it was seeking the public’s assistance in locating a critically missing person. His name is Russell Kauila Kane. His family has also asked the public for help in finding him because they are concerned for his welfare.
Russell is a 69-year-old Asian man with white hair and brown eyes. He weighs 140 pounds and is 5 feet 2 inches tall. He has mental disabilities and has not spoken to his family members.
He was last seen at approximately 8 a.m. on September 20, 2026, in the 17200 block of Figueroa Street in Carson. When he disappeared, Russell was wearing blue jeans, a dark gray/black hoodie that says Fujida’s, and a blue hat.
Anyone with information about Russell’s whereabouts is asked to call the LASD Homicide Bureau Missing Persons Detail at (323) 890-5500 and ask for Detective J. Valenzuela. Anyone who wishes to remain anonymous can instead call Crime Stoppers at (800) 222-TIPS (8477).
