STUDIO CITY—0n Saturday, October 14, the westbound 101 Freeway near Tujunga Avenue and Laurel Canyon Boulevard was shut down in Studio City for several hours due to a crash involving a semi-truck and a car. The California Highway Patrol reported the crash occurred around 2:45 a.m., where the driver of the vehicle was arrested for suspicion for driving under the influence.
The roads were slippery from the rain, which impacted traffic because the semi-truck was spilling diesel oil on the freeway for a substantial period of time.
A clean-up crew spent hours cleaning up the fuel spill. The driver of the SUV was arrested, but the name of the driver has not been disclosed to the public. All lanes of the freeway were reopened to motorists after 9 a.m.
