UNITED STATES−President Trump will go down in history as the first President to spend his entire term under investigation, and it is having a profound effect on the country.

On June 16, 2015, Donald J. Trump announced his White House bid for President of the United States. This is the day Trump made what became known as the famous escalator ride as he slowly descended the golden escalator to the basement of Trump tower.

President Trump himself, on the 4th anniversary of this day called it, “the famous escalator scene.”   Many speculate that this is the day that the effort to rid the nation of even the prospect of Donald J. Trump becoming President began.

President Trump was inaugurated as the 45th President of the United States on January 20, 2017.

The FBI under Andrew McCabe and James Comey launched a criminal and a counterintelligence investigation of the President of the United States in an effort to find evidence that Donald Trump was somehow colluding with Russia  There is no record that the Department of Justice was ever consulted prior to launching this investigation. Robert Mueller was selected as Special Counsel by the Department of Justice to oversee the investigation on the possibility of Russian interference in the outcome of the 2016 Presidential election.  Attorney General, Jeff Sessions recused himself from it. Sessions was the first Republican Senator to endorse President Trump.

The Mueller investigation began May 17, 2017 and lasted until March 22, 2019
“Here too, the Special Counsel’s report did not find that any person associated with the Trump campaign illegally participated in the dissemination of the materials,” William Barr reported.

Cost Of Mueller Investigation

Congress spent 22 months, used 19 attorneys and spent well over $25 Million of the tax payers money on the Mueller investigation. No obstruction or collusion by the President or anyone on his campaign was found.

The Impeachment probe of President Trump began on September 24, 2019 after President Trump called Ukraine President Zelensky to inquire about the dealings of the Biden’s with Ukraine. President Trump has been transparent about the phone call. Transcripts of the call can be found on the White House web page.

Former Vice President Joe Biden had video footage posted on social media bragging about threatening to withhold $1 Billion financial aid to Ukraine if they did not fire their Prosecutor General.

Accomplishments While Under Investigation

The President is now in the midst of an impeachment trial. As President, Donald Trump has continued to do his job, and fulfill his campaign promises all while being investigated.
It is not clear how much money has been spent on the Impeachment of President Trump. Congress would have served the American people better to respect the office of the President by investing this money for the betterment of the country and allowing our absent elected officials to stay home and work in the communities they were elected to serve.

California alone has 53 State Representatives, all of which are working away from their Districts on impeachment hearings, and many on the Mueller report prior to that. Each Representatives represents 710,000 people.
