UNITED STATES—Dr. Ben Carson, the United States Secretary of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) was ousted from a church property in Baltimore, Maryland on Wednesday, July 31.
Carson was in Baltimore to defend President Donald Trump after he sent a tweet to Congressman Elijah Cummings for investigating conditions of border detention facilities which Trump noted that Cummings Baltimore district is far worse.
Dr. Carson, along with his staff had to change venues midstream after being asked to leave a vacant lot owned by Morning Star Baptist Church of Christ, where Carson planned to have his news briefing.
His speech was continued at a different location. Canyon News did reach out to Carson’s staff for comment, but did not hear back in time for print.
Fox News posted an interview with both Dr. Ben Carson and Elijah Cummings via Twitter. Carson defended President Trump after the backlash he faced from his tweets.
“We the people should be enormously proud of our country even though we know it has not been historically perfect. However, when we say one Nation under God, let’s make sure we mean it,” said Dr. Carson
Canyon News also reached out to the Pastor at Morning Star Church of Christ for comment, but did not receive a response.
