BEVERLY HILLS—After a police investigation, a Beverly Hills dog named Charlie was found safe on Friday, January 30.

The white Maltese pooch was reported stolen after his owner noticed him missing outside a Beverly Hills boutique on the 200 block of South Beverly Drive on January 28.

Sgt. Max Subin noted in a press release to Canyon News that surveillance video from a business showed that a pregnant lady picked up Charlie and fled the area.

Following up leads from the media, the Beverly Hills Police Department (BHPD) detectives went to the City of Lynwood  and made contact with the person who had Charlie in their possession.

Charlie’s absence also inspired a few celebrities to ask for help in finding him by posting tweets on Twitter while using the hashtag #FindCharlie.

Hilary Duff tweeted: “PLEASE HELP US FIND CHARLIE!!!! He is missing. Last seen being picked up by a pregnant woman and her son. White Maltese. Red collar. Please call!! (310) 860-1650! Or contact @switchboutique.”

George Lopez also spoke out about the missing dog by tweeting: “No questions asked, please if anyone has any information, please call!”

No arrests were immediately made in the case, which is still under investigation by the BHPD.
