HOLLYWOOD—Its about that time everyone, as awards season is slowly creeping upon us. The 2014 Primetime Emmy Nominations were announced on Thursday, July 10. Nominees were announced by Carson Daly and funny lady Mindy Kaling.
There were quite a few surprises and snubs for nominees this year. No love for Vera Farmiga for “Bates Motel.†Comedies “Brooklyn Nine-Nine†and “New Girl†missed the cut in the Outstanding Comedy Series category. No love for the sensational Tatiana Maslany for “Orphan Black†either. Other surprises include omissions for Connie Britton in the Lead Actress in a Drama Series race, as well as Mindy Kaling missing from the Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series race.
This year’s batch of nominees was a mix of everything from network television, cable television and online series. Leading this year’s pack of nominees was the series “Game of Thrones†with 19 nominations. Following closely behind was “ Fargo†with 18 nominations.
