LONG BEACH—An altercation transpired outside the Democratic National Convention on Saturday, November 16 between President Donald Trump supporters and counter-protesters. According to the LBPD, the fight broke out on Ocean Boulevard and Pine Avenue at approximately 11:30 a.m. Officers from the Long Beach Police Department apprehended three individuals on suspicion of assault charges.
The 2019 California Democratic State Convention was held at Long Beach Convention and Entertainment Center during the weekend of November 15 through November 17.
Video footage by an onlooker and political activist, “Tara” shows Trump supporters lined up on the sidewalk outside the convention center. Some of them had bullhorns and were leading the crowd in the chant, “4 more years, 4 more years,” when counterprotesters approached them. They were shouting and poking fingers at them. One of the counter-protestors took the bullhorn from one of the Trump supporters. The argument quickly turned into a fight leaving one man with a bloodied face after being hit in the face with a scooter.
